Smoke-Free Air Policy

SMOKE-FREE AIR POLICY

In our country, smoking was banned in closed areas open to the public in 2008. In 2009, it was forbidden to use cigarettes and tobacco products in private indoor spaces (cafes, restaurants, etc.).

In this context, Sakarya University made some regulations on the use of tobacco and tobacco products on campus. According to these regulations, smoking is only allowed in certain areas of the campus. In some areas (where people are mostly located, building entrances, etc.), the use of cigarettes and tobacco products is completely prohibited. One of the biggest reasons for this policy is to prevent non-smokers from being affected by cigarette smoke.

Smoke-free air mission:

To be a leading university that aims to protect the health of our staff, students and all other stakeholders, and to cooperate with relevant persons and organizations by creating a national and international management system applicable in smoke-free air space applications.

Smoke-free air vision:

To support a healthy life, to prevent non-smokers from being exposed to cigarette smoke and environmental pollution caused by cigarette butts, by creating a "Smoke-Free Area" in various areas of our campus with yellow lines and warning letters.
